When we started the process of moving to Wilmette from the east coast (with school-age children) without prior knowledge of the area, we knew we would need a real estate agent that 1) was well-informed locally, 2) would get to know us to help guide us, and 3) was communicative and quick to respond. We had already introduced ourselves to a few realtors who were clearly not all three when we fortunately found Tim and instantly knew he was the guy for us. With extensive history in the North Shore, a friendly demeanor, and a work ethic that responded immediately to texts, emails, or calls, we credit Tim with our successful move to the area. Tim was professional, responsive to my requests, and most of all he listened to me. He is not pushy, and he made some excellent suggestions to stage the home. The home sold at or above market value within 10 days! Partly luck but partly due to doing all the little things right such as the staging and open houses. Highly recommend Tim.

Not sure there is anything better to say than Tim sold our place BEFORE it officially hit the market, precisely TO THE dollar amount we agreed upon. Then, a day later he had another client offer us more. A few days after that a woman who wanted our place let her agent go and hired Tim based on how well he handled our deal. Is there anything more you could even ask of a broker? Tim did this--but let's quickly take a closer look. When a house sells in record time for full price, the knee jerk reaction is simply too assume it was sold too low and money was left on the table. Not so. Not at all. Selling a house today is akin to a moon launch. Everything from the price, the time to market, the marketing, the positioning all have to be dead on, or you will NOT sell any time soon. All over the north shore look at the signs you see on too many homes block after block: PRICE REDUCTION. Right? It means the property was not priced/timed/marketed properly. Today's market literally is the best of times if you plan accordingly, or the worst of times if you do not. The net, net is that Tim Shaker did plan accordingly...priced, timed, and positioned everything just right and our home blasted off the market.
