I am a first time home buyer and was looking to purchase my home fully remotely before an employment change and relocation early this year. This could not have been more complex and risky because of the tight timelines and constraints of the full relocation. I had been looking at homes for a few months on my own - with absolutely no idea of the home buying process. A colleague of mine referred me to Sheela Rodriques and from then until now she has been the real reason we are homeowners. Sheela helped us navigate the entire process from mortgage pre-approval, selection criteria, the multiple inspections, price negotiation, title transactions, insurance, warranty and so much more. She was empathetic in understanding our priorities and likings and mindful of our budget and timelines. The first thing she did was fine-tune our priorities - as we had little idea about the change in environment and lifestyle involved in the relocation. In hindsight, this mattered a lot as we were able to stay away from bad decisions. Once we had our core priorities dialed in, it got easier dismissing homes and stay focused. Supply was so thin once that we grew impatient at Sheela not approving of even a single home for quite a few weeks. But now we realize that’s also her best trait - being extremely selective and diligent. This prevented us from getting prejudiced towards certain homes which met our priorities well, but had glaring demerits we were choosing to ignore out of our impatience. Even today we think about the homes we did not go with and thank our stars we didn’t! Also she has pretty good insight into the market and comparative prices, so she could easily identify homes that were inflated or were a bad investment in the long term. All said and done, we are very satisfied and can simply state that it is rare to have such a sincere partner in the real estate market like Sheela Rodrigues. We look forward to working together again on our next project. We can’t thank you enough.
