Shaunna does the impossible and made buying our first home Painless.
First of all I should have written this review nearly a year ago.
Shaunna achieved what I was told was impossible. During the height of the housing crisis, homes were appreciating 5% or more month over month in Central Oregon. Homes were being sold for cash only offers with waived inspections and an unlimited appraisal gap.
I was buying my first home through the VA, with 0% down. My wife and I had decent incomes but very little saved. At least in comparison to our competition.
We wanted, in an ideal world, a ready to move in 3 bed & 2 bath home with a small yard for our dogs to run around in. We were also looking towards the future and preferred a quiet neighborhood with a good school.
We met Shaunna through a program called Homes for Hero’s. As soon as we were matched, Shaunna called and asked about our timelines. We weren’t ready just yet and wanted to save more. Without any pressure at all Shaunna respected our decision and told us to keep her updated.
Over the months we sent her homes we were interested in and Shaunna sent us homes she thought we would like. She quickly learned what we needed and was able to help guide us on the separation between our wants and needs.
A couple months later we were ready. We got pre-approved and started our search. The times that were available to see the homes my wife would have the car. Shaunna offered to pick me up. She, just weeks before had her first child, and her husband Eric was with her helping. They drove me to each of the houses and gave sage advice on the pros and cons of each home.
I fell in love with one of them and Shaunna helped us overstay our appointment and get my wife out to see it. This was the house. It was everything we wanted.
Shaunna helped us put the offer in.
The offer was accepted. Our first offer with all inspections and contingencies through the VA. We closed 30 days later, on time, with no problems.
Shaunna helped us do the impossible. I encourage you to let her do the same for you.
