About Sara

A longtime resident of the Reno/Sparks area for over 40 years, Sara Sharkey brings extensive knowledge of the Truckee Meadows and Northern Nevada real estate market. A REALTOR® and Broker-Salesperson with RE/MAX Professionals, Sara has been helping clients navigate real estate since 2003, specializing in residential sales, investment properties, and property management. With more than two decades of experience, Sara brings a unique perspective when representing buyers, sellers, homeowners, and investors. As a longtime local business owner, she understands that real estate is more than a transaction—it is often one of the largest financial decisions of a client's life. She is committed to knowledgeable representation, strong negotiation, clear communication, and protecting her clients' interests. Sara served as the 2023 President of Sierra Nevada REALTORS® and has held leadership positions including Director, Treasurer, President-Elect, and Immediate Past President. She has also served as a State Director for Nevada REALTORS® and on numerous local, state, and national committees, including Legislative, Professional Standards and Risk Reduction, NVRPAC, and NAR's Federal Financing and Housing Policy Committee. In 2016, Sara was recognized as one of the Top 10 Women in Real Estate by the Women's Council of REALTORS®. Outside of real estate, Sara enjoys traveling, camping, boating, and spending time with her family. She is the proud mother of Cody and Kaylie and grandmother to Bentlee and Rhett.
