Prices had risen as much as 20% in a very short time. So when I say a tough market needs a strong agent, my wife and I were very lucky to find Renee. Renee has lived in the Tampa area her whole life and has a tremendous knowledge of Tampa and surrounding areas. We started our search in the Apollo Beach area and literally went all the way around the bay. We were a strong cash buyer and were offering full price and over, and kept losing out by people offering even more. Finding a home with Renee was like house hunting with one of your best friends. Not because it was fun (which it was)—but because she told you what you needed to hear. Renee wanted to make sure I found the right home vs just closing the deal. That meant saying “I’m not letting you buy this house” when we walked into a place she knew didn’t meet my must-haves, or “You’re not going to be happy here” when I was thinking about settling in the sellers market. Renee was always available; ready to go see anything any time; responsive; and knew the area, the realtors, and the industry (eg: if you wanted you could replace that countertop at $X per foot or do X, Y or Z). She also was one of the few realtors who really cared—saying “it just hit the market? Can you see it now??” When other realtors just wanted to sign me up on an MLS auto-email without having any idea whether or not a place really met my wants & needs.
