Rene’ True received his real estate sales license right after graduating from Lafayette High School in 1977. By the age of 22, Rene’ closed a $1.3 million apartment complex transaction, and earned his real estate broker and principal auctioneer licenses. Rene’ was elected Fayette County Property Valuation Administrator (PVA – tax assessor) at the age of 26. As PVA, Rene’ gained experience valuing properties of all types including: residential, farm, industrial, commercial and multi-family. Rene’ served 12 years at the KY Cabinet for Economic Development, the last three years as the Executive Director of the Office of Research and Information Technology, which included managing the state’s certified industrial site and building program and evaluating potential industrial sites.
Rene’ and his wife Leslie own and manage a million plus portfolio of 10 rental properties in Franklin County, including a vacation rental suite. The couple specializes in renovating distressed properties for their investment property portfolio and owns the real estate brokerage firm True Real Estate Group. Rene’ has negotiated commercial and residential real property sales and leasing transactions, performed appraisals and valuations, and conducted real and personal property auctions. He has taught courses/seminars on investment property, financial analysis, discounted cash flow analysis, property assessment practices, economic development, real estate practices & principles and appraisal. Rene’ received his BBA and MBA degrees from the University of Kentucky. He graduated from the Economic Development Institute, University of Oklahoma. Rene’ has lived his entire life in the Central Kentucky area.
