My name is Miosotys, but everyone knows me as Mio. I came to the United States from Cuba with my family in 1967 at a young age. At first it was challenging to be immersed in a new country, a new culture, a different life. But one step at a time, I started to embrace this magnificent country full of opportunities for all. I went to school, I started a family, bought my first home in Miami, Florida, and eventually moved to Volusia County in 2010.
But my real estate journey started in 1984 when I obtained my license. I worked for a few years as a real estate agent, but having a family and being new at the trade was a little stressful and I didn’t want that to interfere with the kind of real estate agent I wanted to be. I placed my real estate journey on hold and went back to school earning degrees in psychology, social and behavioral sciences, and education. I love personal interaction and the opportunity of helping people succeed, so I became a teacher, and was a passionate and successful educator for many years.
Upon retiring from teaching, I wanted to get back to my first passion, Real Estate. Helping people make the right decision when buying, selling, and/or investing in real estate is as rewarding as it was helping students become successful learners and productive members of society… it is a feel-good experience, and it is huge!
Being fluent in English and Spanish empowers me to be more perceptive, receptive, and understanding of the needs of different cultures, and enhances the skills and qualities that make me an effective communicator.
I am a REALTOR® ! I take pride in what I do. The testimonials of my clients are the best endorsement of my character. I make people happy. … it doesn’t get better than that!
