We'd only been in our home for three years but were looking to move on in a year or so. Because of the pandemic we were very uncertain about the housing market so we met with Michell who explained the effects of the pandemic on the market where we lived, discussed the timing of putting our home on the market, and gave us a checklist of things we could or should do to our house to get it ready for market and to get the best possible price. Based on the information Michell gave us, we chose to put our house on the market and spend a month in the area where we wanted to move, 700 miles away. Our intention was to make sure it was where we wanted to live and begin the groundwork of looking at desirable neighborhoods and getting a feel for the housing market there. Our previous experience selling homes took nearly a year between listings and closings. Things were different with Michell. Michell was able to help with resources and knowledge of the local market on a property that I had difficulty selling. She worked within my budget limitations to educate me about work that needed to be done, and help me get it done. I was struck by the additional time that she spent in educating me with choices, and working with my decisions even when some proved wrong relative to my goal of getting the property sold quickly. Had I taken her advice more immediately the property would have had less time on the market.
