As a decades-long business owner, I'd never before seen the level of elevated professionalism and humanity in client service than I've experienced with Michael Tessaro. Over a period of 21 months, he served our family after my father's death, arranging and managing the extensive repairs/renovations and sale of our father's home. Michael's deep knowledge of the industry, his longstanding relationships with local contractors & service providers, and his forthright character were essential in getting the job done beautifully despite our limited budget. Since we reside outside the immediate area, for 21 months he "held down the fort" for us - regularly checking on the property while anticipating and remedying every issue that arose. He smoothed out snag after snag that cropped up and dealt with vendors and the county for inspections and permitting, never wavering in focus even after delays beyond anyone's control made the process so much longer than originally anticipated. Finally, he made the listing-to-closing process seamless and quick. All the while we were kept thoroughly in the loop with clear, timely and informative communication. Let me start this review by saying, I’ve known Michael Tessaro since the third grade, that’s 51 years. In those 51 years, Michael has always been the example of integrity and honesty; a person to be trusted. My dad passed away coming up on 6 years. My mom fell ill a year and a half ago. She asked to be moved to assisted living because she recognized that she could no longer care for herself. A few months ago, she realized that she would never be able to return to the home she shared with her husband for 45 years. It had to be sold. Knowing Michael has been in real-estate for 40+ years, we decided to ask him to sell our parents’ home. Hiring Michael was the best decision we could have made. From day one, Michael hit the ground running. He lined up the title company, set up the initial walk through, the inspections, sold the items left in the house, brought the home from the 80’s to 2024, cleaned up the landscape, kept me up to date on all the paper work and behind the scene activities, and the big one, he got the solar panel company’s lien off her home. (Solar companies are a nightmare to work with.) I know, you might say all this is to be expected from a realtor. I’d say Michael made the whole process stress free. I only stress I had was self-induced.
We had questions on the state the house was and the condition it would be in on closing. Michael knew and went beyond our expectations and was able to get results from the listing agent. His thorough and provided insight for repairs.

Michael knows exactly how to make your home the most appealing to prospective buyers. He arranges for all the work to get done that's required to prepare the house for putting on the market. And he's not afraid to roll up his sleeves to do some of the work himself. Michael doesn't waste time getting the house ready to sell. He is very efficient and responsive to what needs to happen next. When he told me he was planning to have the house sold by the end of the week, I thought to myself that he was being a little over optimistic. But he did it! Michael was also very helpful getting us through all of the paperwork needed to sell a home - as it can be somewhat overwhelming at times. We always felt confident that he was doing everything the right way and in our best interest. There were never any surprises. Things happened just like he said they would. He would send us weekly property reports of houses sold or for sell in our area so we could understand and appreciate the current market behavior. All we can say is you won't be disappointed having Michael representing you. He is a very trustworthy person and we couldn't be happier with his results.
Michael was very knowledgeable about the housing market in the bay area. Once he had run the numbers on the house, he was the only realtor we interviewed who gave us a comprehensive plan to make the house move-in ready at a relatively low cost and list at a good price for both us, the sellers, as well as the buyer. The only issues we ever encountered were that sometimes, he could be hard to get hold of and while the contractor he works with made everything easy, she made some unilateral, expensive decisions without notifying us that brought her cost higher than originally agreed upon, but the final product looked amazing and sold for well over asking. She was, however, able to make the house look immaculate on a tight work schedule, but I would have appreciated updated cost sheets along the way. Overall, if you're looking to sell a fixer-upper in a reasonable time frame, you should definitely consider Michael
I’ve known Michael personally for many years, but I’d never worked with him as my realtor. I’d always heard great things about him, but he truly exceeded all of my expectations.
