My husband and I worked with Mike Royal for over a year in anticipation of our retirement to Summerville, SC . Throughout this time he kept in contact with us, sending the new listings weekly and meeting with us several times to look at properties and potential lots for building. He was very knowledgeable about the area we we interested in living, professional and very responsive to all of our questions and queiries regarding the home buying process. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Mike. My wife and I were shopping for a home in Summerville in advance of retirement and we chose Mike’s real estate firm based on the content of the associated YouTube channel (shout-out to Mark and Jeff!). Since we (like a lot of their clients) were shopping for a home from well outside of town, flexibility and reachability were particularly important because a lot of business needs to be conducted remotely, usually over the phone. Mike always came through for us, making time as needed to discuss any issues or answer any questions that popped up through the shopping, inspection, and closing processes. He was excellent at facilitating these processes within the many parties involved, whether it was the financing company, the inspection firm, the insurance broker, and the builder. Due to various unique(?) factors, the timeline from the acceptance of our offer to the closing took a long time, and Mike offered up a very thoughtful gesture in the form of a walk-through video of the house. (This was especially important, because we entered into this transaction without actually having set foot in the house!) My wife and I watched that video dozens of times over the next couple of months, both for our own entertainment and escapism purposes, as well as to do some research on various features of the home (e.g., what do the window treatments look like, what kind of appliances are in the house, how big the closets are, and where the electrical panel is). In sum, Mike is the consummate professional. He knows the area inside and out, and the processes forwards and backwards. He’s friendly and funny but can pivot on a moment’s notice to play hardball to represent his clients’ best interests when needed. And he’s a very steadying presence on what can otherwise be a stressful process. We greatly enjoyed working with Mike and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him or his firm to anyone looking to buy a house in the area.

I would like to thank Mike and his team for helping me buy my new home. Mike deserves a Pulitzer Prize for dealing with me. Every question was answered with kindness. I will most definitely recommend Mike and his team. Thank you 😊
