We were first-time home-buyers who selected Mary as our realtor based only on reviews, and we felt very lucky to have found her this way, and to have worked with her throughout a complex transaction. Our experience was complicated in that we wanted to buy a specific, foreclosed house and a local developer got a bid into the bank and accepted a couple of days before us. We decided to then approach the developer and negotiate to buy the house from him, and Mary conducted the negotiations and gave us invaluable advice based on local knowledge as we went through this somewhat harrowing process. There was an enormous likelihood that this negotiation would fail and that Mary would have spent dozens of hours working with us all for naught, with no compensation. Nonetheless, she pursued this difficult sale with tenacity and tact, guiding us gently through the entire process till we reached agreement and purchased the house from the developer. The thing we realized early on was that we might not be able to buy this particular house that we had our hearts set on, but we HAD found the realtor we wanted to work with going forward. Mary is exactly the kind of person we want to do business with: scrupulously honest; straight-talking; pleasant; experienced, with tons of local knowledge; willing to go way beyond the normal expectations for someone in this field; responsive (returning texts at 11pm) -- in short, she was the ideal realtor for us.
