Having retired a few years ago, I was happily renting in Davidson. Mark, however, advised me that, with inflation on the rise, rents were going to go up and the housing shortage was going to drive up housing prices. He suggested that I buy while interest rates were at historic lows (thereby locking in my housing costs with a fixed rate mortgage), but I put that decision off-- to my detriment! Early this year, we began to look at condos and I was shocked at their rising prices and how quickly they got snapped up. Mark cautioned me that time was NOT on my side. The longer I waited, the higher the sales prices (along with higher interest rates). I found a first floor condo( important to protect my gimpy knees) that came available in early April. He suggested I not wait for an Open House the next day, but look at it right away and, if I liked it, make an offer. He also said that I needed to be prepared to pay over asking price. We made a good offer and found out that there were already 6 (SIX!) offers , all over the asking price. I was prepared to up my bid, but Mark made some innovative suggestions (like increasing the due diligence amount) that would show I was a solid buyer--without having to rise the price. Mark had a feeling that the seller wanted to get the sale done-- without risking problems with inspection issues or trouble with the buyer getting a mortgage. (I was in a position to put 50% on the property.) There was a deadline for the bidders to make their "best and final offer"-- 24 hours within listing! Mark waited to within 15 minutes of the deadline to make the offer--and we were successful! I would recommend Mark to anyone looking to buy in this tough market. Having bought my first house in 1985 and my second house in 1999, i was totally unaware of how crazy the real estate market has become. Working with Kay and her team was a phenomenal experience. Mark Rubenstein was diligent and patient as he helped us find our new home and Brian Fisher made selling our old home a breeze. We couldn't be happier with our experience with everyone.
What I liked most about working with Mark was that it reminded me of family. He made us feel like we were never asking too much, like we were his real priority, like he couldn't wait to see us start a new life in a new place and he was going to do whatever it took to make it happen. And he did. Even when we were up against three or four other builder bidders, some of whom offered all cash when we didn't, Mark found a way to win. And along the way he gave us very insightful guidance and made us aware of positives and negatives of each house. Some advice was low-key and some was more passionate, but it all came with the caveat: "You two do what works for you. I'm here to help you but don't think about me. Do what works for you." I was searching from another state so sometimes I had to call at unusual times and ask Mark to do leg work for me. Again, it was like working with family. He was warm, friendly, and usually as excited as I was to narrow down the search and find the prize. A couple of times I needed to see places with an hour notice when they weren't available, but he found workarounds by finding an agent a couple of streets away from the home show up and once the builder himself came and toured me through the home. It was great. There was a moment where we finally thought we had found the one, but then it looked like all was lost. Mark gave us some advice that sounded like a long shot that could never work. But I remember saying to him: "You're the expert. I'm just going to trust you and let you do what you're good at." The next day we had a home. I literally have never seen such a hard worker or felt like a business person was that much on my side. In fact I have a strong suspicion out of all his clients, he likes us the best. I'm kidding, but my point is that you're likely to walk away feeling the same thing. And with a new house too.
The team is great! Would highly recommend. My family, personally worked with Mark Rubenstein for the purchase of our first home. Everything was as smooth as possible and he made the process stress free! He is amazing at what he does and we have nothing but good things to say. We trust him and have recommended him to our family members. Appreciate his hard work ethic. We still use him today for future projects and he will remain a part of our family for sure!

If you're looking to buy in Charlotte area, you simply need to have Mark on your team as your realtor. We were coming from out of state, during COVID, and pregnant with our first child while trying to navigate buying our first home. We decided on building in a pre-planned neighborhood and Mark has experience working for a home builder so he knew the ins and outs better than anyone. His negotiation skills/abilities are stellar and if you need/want something in a home he will work endlessly to deliver. We will only use Mark in the future should we decide to sell or buy again. He even came by to meet our newborn daughter while we were still in the hospital, he truly is a rare breed and a wonderful person all around!
