I'm a native Californian, growing up in Moorpark. I graduated from Santa Clara High School in Oxnard and received an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Oxnard College. I spent three summers as a seasonal firefighter in Monterey County but quickly realized a position as a firefighter was not coming anytime soon. Switching gears, I completed the welding certification program at Ventura College and obtained a Los Angeles City welding certificate. That led to a job in the fabrication shop at Vetco Offshore in Ventura. I bought my first rental property at age 22, real estate (particularly real estate investing) became a big part of my future. Soon after, I decided to obtain a real estate (“salesperson”) license and went on to become a broker in 1989.

I've been married to my wife (Kristin) since 1994. We love to travel and have been scuba diving all over the world. Palau is our favorite dive spot so far. My special “addictions” are travel, hot rods, and Harley-Davidsons. I enjoy sports, music, photography, and (really, really) love animals. We have two mini-schnauzers (Doc & Wyatt) and a cat.
