Hi, I'm Kyung Kim. I immigrated from South Korea to Boston, Massachusetts in 1968 when I was seven years old. Growing up, I watched my mom struggle with the English language while working tirelessly to raise her four children on her own. To this day, I still don’t know how she managed it, but in 1979 she purchased her first home for $70,000. That single decision allowed her to live the rest of her life without financial worry. I want that same sense of stability and pride for everyone—the opportunity to own a home and build long term wealth through real estate. I feel incredibly blessed to play even a small role in helping others reach that goal.
I live in Beaverton with my husband, Richard. My mom lived with us for several years before passing away in our home in February 2022. Her ability to live comfortably until the very end was made possible by that first home purchase in 1979. As of August 2022, with a little down payment assistance, all four of our children now own homes of their own. Working in real estate, I realized early on that if they didn’t buy when they did, they might be priced out of the market later. Whether that would have happened, we’ll never know—but what we do know is that each of them is now experiencing healthy appreciation in their home values.
As passionate as I am about homeownership, I’m equally committed to giving back to our community. I support Compassion First, a nonprofit providing aftercare for sex trafficked girls in Indonesia. My husband and I also feel called to support organizations working to address social injustice.
I’d love to assist you. Whether you’re just beginning your research or you already know exactly what you want, having a real estate professional by your side can make all the difference. It would be an honor to put my experience to work for you.
