Ms. Hirano was my realtor when I sold a home in 2014. She had been my realtor in 2009 when I purchased the same home and had been recommended by a friend with whom I attended church. The sale in 2014 was slightly complicated by my moving out of state, but I had met with Ms. Hirano several times, had gone over the numbers and the process, and was confident in her abilities given the previous recommendation and subsequent purchase in 2009. When closing day came, the relative I had designated to be present in my stead called me with the closing numbers, which were far different from what Ms. Hirano and I had discussed. Upon speaking with the closing attorney, it seems Ms. Hirano failed to inform me of all the costs associated with the sale and I came away from the deal with thousands less than I anticipated. Unfortunately, I could not back out of the sale for legal reasons. I attempted to contact Ms. Hirano following the closing, but my calls were not answered and, despite leaving numerous messages, she never called me back. I don't know the first thing about selling a house, which is why I looked to a professional to facilitate the sale on my behalf. I trusted Ms. Hirano. Unfortunately, for reasons I will likely never know, Ms. Hirano did not have my best interest in mind and failed to do her job. Her commission from the sale was more than my profit.
