A STRANGE AND UNEXPECTED EXPERIENCE

I met Kathi under odd circumstances. She was my brother's agent and he & I had just become mortal enemies over our inheritance. She tried to help me but I refused to let her & since he & I were no longer speaking, I unleashed some really mean insults on her that were uncalled for. 2 years & a total of $156K in legal fees later, I lost the case. Still reeling, my brother again pushed Kathi. The last thing I wanted was advice from HIM but I decided to go w her. I apologized for what I had said but she cut me off, saying she understood. I had even less $ to work with now, just $200K & was clueless re: buying a house. Given her busy schedule, flying all over & making multi-million $ deals, how much time could she give me? Well, 1st she hooked me up w a reverse mortgage loan giving me an add'l $100K of buying power. Then I found a house in my price range at $279K. Excited, I called her late at night: "How do we NOT lose it?" She was decisive: "If you really want it, we offer asking price." Done. Next was the inspection. It was a 3 hour drive so I planned to go alone but she & her contractor husband picked me up, devoting the entire day to MY little deal. Then disaster. Halfway there, the inspector called & said turn around. During the night, a water pipe had burst causing the ceiling to collapse over the kitchen & dining room. Major repairs & a lengthy delay were needed. We decided to keep going as I still had 8 houses on my list. Amazingly, before we got there, Kathi arranged for tours of all 8! We also saw the damage firsthand & it was incredible but Kathi's husband the contractor assured me it wasn't as bad as it looked which might work to my advantage. I wish I had the space to detail HOW she did it but Kathi got me a whole new kitchen, flooring, walls & paint - over $85K(!) worth at no cost to me. The seller also paid HER commission & reimbursed me $150 a day for 6 weeks of hotels while I waited. I'm set for life thanks to her. In short, Kathi is a miracle.
