Karen helped us during our home search over the past two years and showed us some homes in the area. She eventually helped us purchase a house that we really like, and I appreciate the work she did before the purchase. During the purchase, our experience was mixed. We sometimes felt rushed, and the process was not as smooth as we expected. An inspector was asked to return and check some of the seller’s repairs, but we were not told in advance that there would be an additional fee. We later discovered that the home warranty had not been included in our purchase, even though we do not recall being consulted about that decision. We also asked several times by email, text, and phone for help arranging a walkthrough before closing, but we did not get the walkthrough we requested. The biggest disappointment came after closing. Communication became very difficult, and many of our calls, texts, and emails went unanswered. We asked several times for help getting the HOA pool access key from the seller, but did not get a resolution through Karen. After taking possession, we found some appliances were not working. We also discovered a broken water valve in the backyard, and water had been runing for about three days. We had not been informed and only learned about it when a neighbor contacted us. The seller had also not closed the trash service account. I asked Karen to contact the seller, but after no follow-up, I eventually handled it myself. Karen had also offered, as a courtesy, to help us rent our previous home and connect us with remodeling contractors. We appreciated those offers, but did not receive the follow-up we expected. This was not our first home purchase, so we are familiar with the process. I appreciate Karen’s help in getting us to the purchase, which is why I am giving two stars rather than one. However, based on the communication and lack of follow-up around closing and afterward, I would not recommend her based on our experience.

Karen is an exceptional real estate agent and an even better person. She has deep knowledge of the Lamorinda market, years of experience, and a calm, thoughtful approach that made the entire process feel manageable. She offers honest, practical advice without ever being pushy, and she genuinely listens to her clients’ priorities. One of Karen’s greatest strengths is her collaborative style. Rather than trying to dictate every decision, she brings her expertise to the table, explains the pros and cons of each option, and works with you to develop the best strategy. We always felt that she respected our opinions while making sure we had the benefit of her experience. We couldn’t be happier with our experience. Karen guided us through one of the largest financial transactions of our lives with professionalism, patience, and kindness. We are incredibly grateful for her advice, support, and friendship, and we recommend her without hesitation.
