As a first-time home buyer, I needed an agent that would be able point out any flaws that a home may have or items that made a house just a little extra special. We were never in a rush when we toured homes, even if we had six on the list for that day. He let me take as much time as needed pointing out the good and the bad in each home. When I asked for suggestions of upgrades I could possibly make to a home, he had great ideas. He also acted as a liaison between me and the mortgage broker to ensure that houses of interest met mortgage requirements.
