Jody has become the 4th sister in our family. We learned to speak very freely in front of her, whether she liked it or not. She became our rock and our sounding board. We began our journey on an emotional rollercoaster. Our beloved Mother had recently passed away and it was time to sell our 55 year old family home that our father built for us. Our Mom saved everything, which made this task even more difficult. After updating the main part of the house we put it on the market with Jody as the listing agent. She grew up down the street and although we didn't know her well, she had an appreciation for our subdivision and mid-century modern homes. Jody found the right family for our precious home. It was excruciating to see the rooms empty, hand over the keys to another family and leave our youth behind. But we knew they would create their own roots and memories. What made matters worse was that I had to find a home for myself at the beginning of the real estate bidding wars. Jody had the patience of a saint! As a designer raised in a construction family, I had requirements for my new place. In hindsight, maybe this wasn't the time to be so picky. After 3 months of searching and being squeezed out of 8 offers, I finally landed a house. I just closed escrow and will start to renovate. Thanks to Jody for sticking with me through each disappointment of losing yet another house by such small margins. And thanks to her for her caring, constant positive mental attitude and friendship. I will probably go through Jody withdrawals. She's the one you want on your side!
