While I am very happy that we got the unit, there were a couple of issues that I wish had been handled differently. First, I expected that the escalation clause written in my contract would have been automatically enforced; instead I had to rebid. If that is the way escalation clauses work, I fail to see their relevance. Perhaps an escalation clause is redundant or it was not applied in my case as it should have been. Second, I think a good clause to put in the contract would have been that all plumbing, fixtures and appliances are in working order. While the cost of fixing them is not great, it makes for a rather uncomfortable moving in experience.
