1. What is your professional/educational background?
I have had my real estate license since 2004 and practiced for 14 years before taking a break to pursue some other things that were on my bucket list which included opening a retail storefront and becoming a flight attendant. I purchased my first airbnb in 2010 and realized quickly that I had a natural gift for the hospitality industry. I now have two airbnb's in the heart of Ohio's Amish country and a commercial real estate property as well.
2. Why did you choose a career in real estate?
I absolutely love helping people. Buying a home can be super intimidating and I always loved that I could take a lot of the stress away from that process by ensuring my buyers understood the process of buying and by working diligently to ensure problems were headed off before they escalated. I have a natural eye for design and decor so that component was super helpful when helping seller's stage and sell their homes. I love the relational component of real estate and creating lasting friendships that go way beyond a real estate transaction.
3. What area do you live in currently and what do you like about where you live?
I grew up in the heart of Ohio's Amish country in a town called Millersburg. I was here for 46 years before my airline job landed me in the thick of New Orleans, Louisiana. I have loved both locations. My hometown will always have sentimental value to me because it is the area that formed me into who I am today. I had a phenomenal family growing up and I have memories that are very special to me that I will cling to forever. As far as Louisiana, Southern Charm is a real thing and I you can't fully understand it unless you experience it. Travel has been a huge blessing for me, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. I love diversity!
4. How do you spend your free time?
When I have a free evening, I absolutely love sitting on my porch with my bird and my dog. I love to read, so it isn't unusual to find me with a book. add in an outdoor fire and it's even better. If and when all of my adult kids can come home, I absolutely love nesting up my home and creating a cozy space where they want to linger and I just enjoy them being with me.
5. If you could only keep 5 possessions what would they be?
If I could keep 5 possessions....... My Bible, my Dog and My Bird
6. In one word, how do you think your friends/family would describe you?
JOYFUL. Everyone that meets me appreciates the joy that exudes out of me and my friendly personality.
