Without Heather I would not own a home. My budget was small and most housing was out of my price range. When there was a house that I could afford on the market, Heather made sure I was able to see the home promptly and gave great advice on making offers. When my offer was not accepted on the first home I attempted to buy, Heather's positivity helped me to keep my hopes up that there was something better out there for me. When the home I am in now came on the market, Heather made an appointment for me to see it within my work schedule and also made inquiries about other homes in the area I could see. I decided to make an offer on the home and with Heather's expertise, my offer was accepted. Heather worked to get me the best deal. The seller offered to pay part of my closing costs and I received funds toward repairs when the inspector found some issues with the home. Through the many processes I had to go through from appraisal to HOA approval, Heather was right there with me giving instruction and making phonecalls/sending emails when necessary. I could not have had a better advocate, counselor and real estate agent than Heather.

Heather was sure to make sure that our bases were covered when buying our first home. There were small things that we didn't think of that she pointed out. In the long run it saved us a lot of headache and money. Anytime of night that we had questions she was there to help and answer them, we walked away with so much knowledge thanks to her knowledge and communication.

Have kept us informed every step of the way, looked out for us, and every conceivable way things that we might have missed otherwise... she also stayed in constant communication with us via text, email, and phone calls to let us know about all our possible changes or things that might come up. But more than anything, if we ever had any other real estate need or needed to refer a friend, the first person I would call would be Heather!

I interviewed over 7 Realestate Agents, and all of them had different stipulations they personally set when working with a Zero Down VA Loan… IF they even worked with one. One agent said they would only represent us if we got a house that was a new build. One said no sellers want to work with VA Loans because the closes aren’t fast, they’re typically 60 day closes - so because of that, the agent wouldn’t work with a VA buyer. A few said they’d be willing to work with us if we strictly looked at houses that had been on the market close to or over 1 month, or new build. Another said they felt we weren’t ready in their opinion & needed to wait 1-2yrs for the market to slow down. And one said we needed to have at least $10k above asking outside of closing costs to be competitive in this market otherwise it was pointless. Needless to say, we became discouraged with so many agents telling us something is impossible & not going to happen. BUT… I remembered Heather McGuckin helped my sister buy a house with a VA Loan! We bought a house without seeing it first since we were out of State. She was absolutely amazing! We informed her that we were a young family and we needed a safe community to raise our kids.
