The decision to sell our home on the water was a difficult one to make. Being avid boating enthusiasts and loving the coastal environment we were torn having to leave those sunrises and sunsets. Our original plan was to stay 10 years. However after a few economic changes in the market and having been lucky enough to survive through Superstorm Sandy with minimal damage we stayed for 24 years. Over a period of about the last five years we listed our home with various agents, but our intent was somewhat wholehearted and there was never the enthusiasm or support that we found when we listed with Doug and Coldwell Banker Realty in late summer. We had been contacted by them on several occasions and because of their diligence and professionalism, we chose them when the time was right. Doug took a personal interest in our desire to sell and move out of state to be closer to our grown children and their families. He gathered as many documents as were available to provide transparency to future buyers to educate them on waterfront property. He made himself available daily to answer questions of prospective buyers and to host weekend open houses to meet personally with them. He worked closely with agents who brought interested buyers to ensure all information was available and concerns were addressed. We can't thank him enough for supporting us, especially when the house was under contract and we were feverishly searching for a new home in Maryland with only a few short weeks before our move. He was our right hand in assuring things would fall into place and we would ultimately meet our goal of being closer to our family. With Thanksgiving upon us, we are planning to spend the holiday with our children who are close by, and are thankful to Doug for guiding us to where we wanted to be.
