My wife, Rita, and I purchased 3 adjacent lots near Richlands, NC with investment ideas in mind. Joe took on the unenviable task of selling these properties that we had overpaid for. Market fluctuations and the ubiquitous Murphy’s Law were headwinds working against us over several years that were finally overcome with a sale here within the past couple of weeks. During that extensive listing period of little interest in the land, Joe was upbeat and encouraged us to ride out the dizzying roller coaster ride of selling real estate. Being here in Ohio, we relied on Joe to find contractors to maintain the properties for us. Nothing was too much for him to do on our behalf: clearing land, getting estimates, securing the properties. Joe found folks who did good work at a fair price: and, then followed up on the work done. Joe and I would joke about what he would do with his commission check when the lots sold as we witnessed our asking price gradually go down. The sale price ended up being 50% less than what we had paid. So much for us being investment wizards. Ritie and I enjoyed our relationship with Joe which progressed from a business to a personal friendship over the years. We relied on his knowledge of the market and trusted his integrity which was apparent after knowing him for a short time. Ritie didn’t see the land finally sell, But, without question she and I would concur on the job Joe did for us with patience and professionalism. The bad news is, as a former client I expect now to be removed from Treasure Realty’s Christmas Fruit Basket list ........ : ) ....... : ( .......The good news is that I have a friend named Joe Powers ......... Ritie and I thank you, Joe. The best to you and your Family. Be safe. Hope to see you in August. Tom Ferguson Milford, Ohio
