While I appreciate being able to close that chapter of my life with David’s help, I was disappointed in many steps taken to get us there. Many times I didn’t feel included in the decisions being made to get us to the finish line. The first was being made aware of the sale price that was discussed (with my ex, the male) in my absence. It sat on the market for 3 months only having to lower the price to the original price we discussed collectively (-$35k). David would connect with me on decisions and next steps after the fact, by text, even after I asked him not to do that, as I wanted to be included 100% on everything. It wasn’t until he thought we were getting an offer and pulled the deed that he started to include me… and that was in month 3 of our home being on the market. He saw that my name (the female) was listed solo on the deed, and even stated, “oh, I see now…”. This is when I saw a very distinct shift in his communication on next steps… very hurtful, emotional and disappointing. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. It really shouldn’t matter the name on the deed, or assuming the male is the decision maker… the decisions should have been all inclusive, especially when he knew the sale was due to a divorce.
