"Difficult Takes a Day, Impossible Takes a Week." My greatest concern is the satisfaction of my clients, which I believe includes the results as well as the process. Whether we are engaged in selling your current home or purchasing your next one, we are working with a portrait of your life. This includes comfort, security and sanctuary. There is also aspiration, risk and even a bit of compromise. Your portrait must be unique to you and your needs. Access to hints, tips and aphorisms related to real estate is vast and now greatly compounded by electronic and print media. What can be missed in this avalanche is “you” -- your particular needs and aspirations. That’s why I appreciate every client as an opportunity to engage in a project that is both financially sound and intimately reflective of you. I draw on more than real estate knowledge and skills, although they are certainly essential. I also bring the sensitivity and perception developed through my work in photography, carpentry and design, often for clients at the luxury end of the spectrum. This is not to say that we would waste time with flights of fantasy. The real estate market is an unsympathetic editor. The shape of our design must dovetail with the realities of inventory, interest rates, budget, commute times, school districts, style preferences, remodeling skills and many other factors. These many details are often overwhelming and sometimes conflicting, but I can help cut through the chaos to help you reach the audience of sellers, listing agents and lenders that will meet your needs. Real estate is an engagement in mutuality and cooperation. Buyers and sellers must find a balance that satisfies most of their needs. My talents can also be turned toward preparing a listing for the market, judging what will appeal to buyers, and discerning the quality of offers. Our watchwords at Red Oak Realty are “seriously local,” which resonate with me as I identify as Oaklandish. I was born and raised here and have lived or worked at every point of the Bay Area compass over the years. But the East Bay is my home. I am firmly rooted here. I have watched the changes and growth of so many different communities all around the Bay and I use that invaluable experience to help you understand the subtleties of each neighborhood and micro-market. We got our house on the first bid!

We wouldn't have this house we love without Dana. He carefully lead us through the process which as first-time homebuyers we did not understand. He also got us to a very good mortgage broker and home insurance, as well as, a special treat for our son once we moved in. His advice and consent were spot on, we got our house on the first bid!

If you are in the market to buy a home in Oakland, do yourself a HUGE favor and contact Dana. The housing market in Oakland is a bit daunting, and it takes some time to learn how to navigate it. As first time home buyers, we became aware of this learning curve very quickly. Then we met Dana. He is extremely knowledgeable in his area, and is an excellent realtor. There are so many qualities that we appreciate, and they are not limited to the following: He has a great knowledge of his market, and he puts the work into research. So when we put in offers on places, we knew exactly what these places were valued at. Dana would provide thorough reports to ensure that we went into each offer with the information we needed to make a viable offer. The bay area is a housing market frenzy! Everyone basically says that it is impossible to find a place. Dana, on the other hand, was a calming influence throughout the whole process. He NEVER pushed us into anything. He was well aware of what we wanted, and he never made us feel like it was out of reach. In fact, he did the opposite for us -- he kept us calm in this whole process so we could make informed and smart decisions. Dana is overall a great guy, which makes him a pleasure to work with. In this market you need to have a realtor that other realtors like to work with and everyone we've ever met says wonderful things about Dana. It makes a big difference! We love Dana nearly as much as our new house!

My wife and I were first time home buyers with lots of questions, high expectations and a bit of nervousness. Dana's knowledge, experience and calm demeanor kept us level headed. Dana was the best realtor! I was a very nervous first time home buyer. He was very responsive to all of my questions, gave me excellent advice and helped me find exactly what I wanted. Thanks to Dana I closed on a condo a month after emailing him asking him to be my realtor. He's very knowledgeable, has great instincts, will work hard to get you the best deal and is a super nice guy! I can't recommend him enough!!!
