Prior to entering the real estate industry, I was a Licensed Investment Advisor in the US and Switzerland. Additionally, I co-produced natural history films that were commissioned by National Geographic Explorer. My work abroad also brought me to Sudan where I served through a non-profit to free slaves from their abductors during the 25-year civil war in that country. I have served on the Board of Directors of Darfur Peace & Development Organization since 2004 and am also a long-term board member serving Sub-Sahari College University in El-Fashir, Darfur, Sudan. My husband and I own and operate a small farm in Union County NC, growing livestock hay for horses and cattle. We own two standard donkeys, a horse and two cats. My husband served 33 years in the US Army, retiring with the rank of Major General.
