Beware - Don't hire this one!
My experience working with Cheryl Miller-Kelley was extremely disappointing. As a licensed real estate agent myself, I understand the industry standards and expectations, which makes this experience all the more frustrating. I initially hired Ms. Miller-Kelley to list my $1,350,000 property. Despite my professional courtesy in offering her this opportunity during what was a slow period for her business, she seemed to treat my listing as an inconvenience rather than a valuable client relationship.
Shortly after our initial discussions, she informed me she was changing brokerages to MCO Realty. Having previously worked with this organization, I had serious reservations about proceeding. When I attempted to withdraw from our arrangement prior to signing a formal contract, Ms. Miller-Kelley repeatedly contacted me, pleading for the opportunity, which I reluctantly granted.
Unfortunately, immediately after securing the signed listing contract, her level of service declined dramatically. She left town on vacation, leaving me to handle virtually all aspects of the sale myself, including: hiring and paying for a professional photographer, creating the property listing, conducting showings for potential buyers, negotiating the sale terms, reviewing and managing all paperwork and legal documentation with the escrow company.
By the time Ms. Miller-Kelley returned from her vacation, I had essentially completed the entire transaction without her assistance. I was fully anticipating that she would do the honorable thing and discount her fee dramatically due to her lack of involvement with my listing. However, despite providing no meaningful service under our agreement, she insisted on collecting her full commission, citing the binding nature of our contract. I would strongly advise potential clients to seek representation from an agent who prioritizes service and client satisfaction over commission.
