As a first-time home buyer from Florida moving to Detroit, MI area, working with Carlos was among the smoothest parts of the process of purchasing a home. As a Detroit native, Carlos is hard-working and authentic very much in a manner characteristic of the overall Detroit community. I used the non-profit NACA program that required extra effort to navigate the homeownership process to acquire the benefits of that system. Through the housing market was currently the most competitive and aggressive it has been in decades and NACA conversely being notoriously slow in their process, I was still able to navigate the process with minimal problems with Carlos's help. Carlos was able to help us find a house quickly with our given parameters and minimal budget. He was always responsive even when dealing with a family crisis; much more than anyone else involved in the process such as seller/mortgage broker/inspectors/bank/etc. When tasked to engage the involved parties, he did it through his channels doggedly which was required in this aggressive market. He also had a list of contractors for projects to increase his market knowledge which he was able to use effectively to understand the effort and cost of work that could be done. However, due to my situation, I did not go through a renovation loan, instead, choosing to renovate when supplies have reached pre-pandemic levels.
