As a first-time homebuyer, I couldn’t have asked for a better agent than Ashley Hutchinson. She was fast, friendly, and easygoing, yet she wasn’t afraid to put me in my place when I needed a reality check. Ashley always had a clear game plan and knew exactly what strategy to use when making an offer. What really stood out to me was how much she felt like both my realtor and my therapist at times. Even though therapy isn’t in her job description, Ashley always knew how to talk me through the stressful moments and remind me to stay focused on the big picture. She consistently advocated for me, making sure my best interests were protected and that nothing slipped through the cracks. There were even existing tenants in the home when we first toured it, and Ashley handled the situation with professionalism and care all the way through until they moved out. She also came through with the addendums we needed, whether it was to have a tree cut down or to get the house cleaned, making sure everything was taken care of properly. Her knowledge, patience, and support made this entire process not just manageable, but genuinely positive. Listen: whether you’re a first-time home buyer or have done this a few times, this is NOT something you want to do alone. I’m a first-time home buyer, and yes, I was scared. I also work from home full-time, and I’m pretty busy being pulled in different directions throughout my day. If you’re a busy person like me, you want someone like Ashley helping you with this entire process. It’s just too much back and forth. Ashley was very attentive to my needs—I was lucky to find her after my first realtor wasn’t really listening to what I wanted. I wasn’t so sure what neighborhood I wanted to live, but Ashley listened to my likes/dislikes/non-negotiables, and she was able to give me actual suggestions that she thought I would like. Not just saying “yes” to everything just to make a sale. The other realtor wasn’t giving me any push back against areas I think I may have really been uncomfortable with, and wasn’t thinking about my needs. I had a pretty big work project going on while closing on my first home, and Ashley was always one text or call from handling everything for me. She always contacted me through every step of the way via phone and email. And she knew exactly when to contact me with the final updates instead of overwhelming me with little details that were still being ironed out. It also helps that she’s very personable and funny. As a first-time home buyer, I felt like I was working with a friend on my side rather than an unapproachable corporate figure. OH. I also can't forget—she has a roster of people who she personally uses and trusts for home repairs, inspection, etc. An extra bonus and a lot less work for me to take care of on my end! :') Ashley and I looked at a few houses together. She was able to recognize my reaction to the house that I ended up closing on. On the final walk through, she remembered that my fiance cooks, and she gave us a really sweet wooden cutting board. I couldn't have imagined doing this with anyone else.
