April Young is the consummate professional, who is focused on selling your home and making certain that your home is priced appropriately for the market. Right after my first call to April, I received an appraisal of the current market with comps for similar units throughout the area. Once I signed to have April market my home, professional photos were taken, an open house was scheduled, and my home was professionally staged. The property sold in 7 days after the open house! Not only that, but I received above asking price and slightly above the market price for the area. April walked me through the entire process from beginning to closing. We looked for a home to buy on our own, checking listings and locations from the MLS daily comparing the homes to what we needed. Once we finally found some places we might actually want, we'd call April and usually get to see them the same day or nearly. This wasn't the traditional arrangement, but she was still massively helpful every time we saw her for a period of 6 months. Once we found the right place, she was on top, and ahead, of the REO negotiations with the bank. Her extensive knowledge and good will between local agents, banks, inspector companies, and repair people meant we got things done without unnecessary delay. No pressure, no muss, just skill and precision. She didn't sugar coat any part of our deal and she was quick to point out any hardships that might occur, rather than trying to make a quick sale and sticking us with problems later. I'd call that pretty amazing honesty. None of our local friends have gotten that much honesty in their home purchases, so we feel blessed.<br/><br/>Her local knowledge is extensive, but her area is so large she cannot know every neighborhood from Santa Cruz to the entirety of Santa Clara County. I think she knows as much as anyone could learn in 25+ years of working here.

April did such a great job helping us to sell our home that when my mother needed to sell hers a year later, we used April again. She did an excellent job for my mother as well. When we spoke with April about helping us sell our house, she outlined her preferred approach, and it matched what we were most comfortable with as well. Namely, get the house completely move-in ready for the buyer and list it at our real target price, not an inflated price. She gave solid advice on what helped the house look its best. She provided good guidance on the comparable listings, and she let us know when new listings appeared that could affect our situation.
