Amy is amazing! We moved here from Brooklyn with very little knowledge of the area. Amy’s knowledge of the Maplewood/South Orange market is unparalleled. Not only that, but her expertise expands beyond here as well. She helped us navigate unfamiliar territory, provided invaluable insight into different neighborhoods, identified things to look for/avoid, and noticed things we never would have noticed. She stood by us and went to every open house with us, gave us her honest feedback, and never made us feel pressured. After a lengthy journey, in an extremely competitive market, amidst unfathomable bidding wars, Amy ultimately found us our dream house before it even got the market. We are so thankful for Amy’s guidance in finding our new home.

Amy made the stressful process of simultaneous buying and selling as smooth and painless as possible. She helped us hone down our "must haves", establish a reasonable budget for each town and helped point out pros/cons of each home that we would have missed. Amy knows everybody and has made so many helpful referrals to attorneys, contractors, etc.

Amy is phenomenal. I wouldn't be living in my dream home if it was not for her. She is everything you're looking for in a real estate agent and more. Here's why: 1) Amy is incredibly knowledgeable. She knows real estate and has an impressive network that she taps into to help you find your home (and likely sell your home too). Other agents I bumped into when house hunting always seemed to be impressed by Amy, which I think is a great sign. If you're a first time home buyer, she'll also take the time to go through the process with you and she'll be there with you every step of the way to make sure you're comfortable. Everyone Amy works with is fantastic too. For example, the attorney I worked with was great and very responsive. 2) Amy is a genuinely nice and caring person. I had shared that I was looking at a particular school for my child and she introduced me to a number of people she knew who had children that went to that same school. 3) Amy is always cool, calm and collected. Buying or selling a home is emotional, so I think working with someone who can be your voice of reason is a game changer. Amy helped me so much in the negotiation for my home. 4) Amy continues to be in touch well after I've closed on my home, which says a lot about her. Many of her clients are repeat clients and I completely understand why. So, in summary, you can't go wrong working with her. She's amazing in every possible way. If you're on the fence, give her a call and find out for yourself.

We really enjoyed working with Amy Paternite. She is a higly skilled realtor: knowledgeable, professional, patient and knows how to get things done. She efficiently found a buyer for our house (for an excellent price), and was very helpful in the purchase of our current house. She is also personable and reliable, so having her represent us to sellers' agents worked well. Like many realtors, Amy has access to mortgage lenders, lawyers, and other professionals who support the home buyng/selling process. However, given the importance and magnitude of these types of transactions, we strongly recommend independently engaging a mortgage lender, lawyer, inspector, etc. Amy went out of her way to make sure our purchase went through on schedule. We definitely recommend her.

Everything Amy did was above and beyond, but there are two areas where she deserves particular accolades. 1) Amy helped us get the best possible market for the home we were selling, by advising home improvements and staging that highlighted the valuable features of our home and helped show that our home was complete. She also navigated a sales and bidding process that could have been very complicated given that there were over 20 bids on our house. The process was as straightforward as it could have been, given the dramatic market movement we were seeing. 2) Amy helped us find and buy the right home in South Orange. Initially, we were looking in Maplewood, but Amy encouraged us to consider South Orange as well. Amy helped us understand the neighborhood around the home we ultimately purchased. She highlighted the trade-offs and guided us through the bidding process, helping us structure the best offer to meet the seller's expectations. The inspectors that she engaged gave us great confidence in the quality of the home we purchased. We highly recommend Amy!

We are so grateful to have worked with Amy for a second time for the sale of our first home and purchase of our new home! Above all, we always knew that Amy had our best interest at heart - whether that meant reaching out to contacts on our behalf to make sure our home was show ready or scouting other houses in the neighborhood to ensure we could feel confident in the offer we submitted we were in the best of hands with Amy. She goes above and beyond for her clients and truly works with only the best people. I hope to not have to buy/sell a home again in the near future but if I do, I already have my realtor.
