House sale during COVID
Soon after COVID-19 first happened, I received a job offer out of state. With the virus being so new, restrictions were in place on almost every aspect of our lives, including real estate. There were no open houses, and showings were limited to the buyer's agent plus one or two people only. Despite the uncertainty, Amy got right to work, assisting me with marketing, house presentation, and setting my expectations for the upcoming process. She was well versed on the necessary steps as a seller, which was important I was selling my rural mountain home. Amy arranged for the photographer, who also did a virtual tour, as showings were going to be difficult. She gave me a range of potential offering prices, and gave good advice to me in choosing my price.
The house went on the market. Despite the restrictions, there were several showings in the first couple of days, as well as additional interest developed by the virtual tour and local mailings. Due to Amy's preparation and expertise, I had an offer $10,000 over asking in five days. During the early days of COVID. Incredible. But wait, there's more...the buyer's initial appraisal came in significantly under what other houses in the area had appraised for, and likely would have resulted in rejecting the offer. Amy stepped up again and, using her exceptional intuition and people skills, worked with the buyer's agent to express her concerns and ultimately got them to find a different appraisal and the deal went through.
In short, Amy was positive, professional, prepared, hard working, and people-oriented. If you're looking for someone to help you sell or buy real estate, I think you'll have trouble finding anyone better.
