Albert Babayan of the Condo People had us sign a 3/4 month contract but held open house one weekend ONLY - 2 hrs on Saturday, 2 hrs on Sunday. Hired Albert based on promises he made that he will represent us fully and get us top dollar. He did not do that since he also represented the buyer, who happened to be an agent. Albert pushed us to take this, first and only offer, he brought. He was set make 4% commission representing the buyer as well instead of 2.5% if he were to only represent us. He insisted that no one else showed interest in the condo when we had multiple offers and had entered escrow twice with another agent at $40K above the asking price Albert set. Our 1,610 sq. ft. top floor condo with views had always been desirable and garnered admiration. This shortchanged us over $15K after closing costs. None of it affected his 4% commission. Albert threatened us with a lawsuit when I spoke up about these concerns and told him we're not comfortable signing the closing escrow documents. We felt forced to sign. To add insult to injury, they featured selling our condo in their 10/23 brochure.
