My son and daughter-in-law asked me for help in finding a larger single family home for their growing family. We researched local realtors and met with a few before deciding on Dewey. He quickly and successfully sold their smallish condo and showed them numerous single family homes that met their objectives. They fell in love with a particular house and moved to make an offer. Although undisclosed by the seller, Dewey discovered a serious issue with the septic tank. The offer was then amended to make the seller responsible for correcting the issue; they declined to accept the "contingency." We never found out what happened behind the scene with the seller, the selling broker and Dewey; but my son pulled out. The house was later sold to another, we believe unsuspecting buyer, who we heard, had to bear the cost of a major (upwards of $20,000) upgrade to the septic system. Those buyers took their lumps and subsequently sold the property after less than 3 years. Those buyers could have been my son and daughter-in-law had Dewey not discovered the undisclosed problem. Dewey later found them a much better option and exactly the house they were looking for within their price range.
