As a Realtor in California for 21 years, I was looking forward to turning over the sale of my mother-in-law's lake-home, located in Commerce Township, Michigan, to a local professional. Susan McFarland was selected based on familiarity with the area, volume of business and her confidence to resolve any situation. Most real estate transactions have a few minor challenges, but when the tough issues come up, buyers and sellers will wish they had a proactive, chew-through-walls pro to take charge. My sale was just 4 days prior to close when the "event storm" of August 2023 hit the area. Trees down, roads closed and water issues with just about everyone's basement...including ours. We had serious water penetration and drainage issues with only days for a solution. The buyer could justifiably walk if a mutual decision could not be found quickly. Sue took charge immediately. With the whole Detroit area underwater it would be a Herculean task (sorry Sue...can't come up with a feminine version) to secure a drainage contractor to an appointment for a quote. After Sue made 21 calls to drainage experts, she located not only a plumber to check basic functionality, but also a highly regarded drainage professional with over 30 years of providing guaranteed solutions...who was already scheduling a plethora of new bids. Sue showed additional value as she arranged an immediate session with buyer, seller and contractor for the next day, led the discussion while explaining the options each party was afforded, calmed the room, and worked to a solution. We closed on-time with all parties thrilled with the outcome. You'd be wise to look for this type Realtor for your next transaction.
