I was raised on a 147 acre ranch in Red Rock, Texas, in Bastrop County, but I spent 29 years living in the Rio Grande Valley. It was there that I picked up the Spanish language that I continue to learn and practice. I am a graduate of Bastrop High School (1984) and Texas A&M University (Class of '88). I have a passion for real estate that stems from both my mother's and grandfather's satisfying real estate careers. HOWDY-DO! Buying and selling real estate is probably the most expensive and stressful transaction in your lifetime. It's important to find the right REALTOR! Here is some information about me: I am a 5th generation Texan who has lived in Bastrop County for over 20 years. I am originally from Plano and my family migrated to Austin in 1977. Since we lived in far North Austin out of the city limits, I attended Pflugerville schools when the population was only 300! From that moment on, I knew I liked the country atmosphere, but wanted to still be close to large town conveniences. I am a Southwest Texas State Alumni (now Texas State) and studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, Broadcast Journalism, Mass Communications, and Business. While in Austin I taught pre-school, and I owned and operated a variety of businesses including the first home and pet-sitting service in the area in 1990 (back when people used the Yellow Pages to find business). My other businesses were an interior design/landscape design company and a medical billing company. Even though having my own businesses was rewarding, the best job I still have is being a Mom first and foremost (to the human kind and fur-babies). GOD and Family are my first priority. In my free time I like to be outside cycling, Landscaping, working on home improvement projects, spending time with my family and volunteering in many community organizations like animal shelters and visiting the elderly at nursing facilities. So, what can I do for YOU? The words “quit” and “can’t” are not included in my vocabulary. I understand that being a knowledgeable Realtor® should be combined with experience, determination, and understanding. My tenacity is equal only to the wonderful relationships I form with my clients. We’ve worked with Zia across many different chapters of our lives, and she’s been exceptional every time. She guided us through buying our very first home right out of college, when we had more questions than answers, and years later she helped us upgrade when our family started to grow. In both situations, her judgment, professionalism, and calm way of breaking things down made the process feel manageable instead of overwhelming. What really sets her apart is that she gives advice you can trust, even when that advice is "don't sell." At one point we were considering listing our home, but Zia helped us understand why waiting was the smarter move. That guidance ended up being absolutely right. Our relationship with Zia spans two decades and includes homes bought and sold (and almost bought and sold...). When we made the decision to move back to Bastrop, there was no doubt about what agent we would use. Buying a home in this market is hard and finding someone you trust both personally and with the business process of it is hard. To say we love our house would be an understatement; we never would have found it and navigated the tricky process of appraisals, limited inventory for what we wanted, and negotiations without Zia. We've bought and sold homes before and at this stage in our life have a checklist that is more complex than just wanting a certain number of bedrooms and kitchen cabinet color. Zia works to understand her clients' lifestyles and how that translates into a home. (And isn't afraid to tell you when a home doesn't match that no matter how much you might want it to.) Zia knows the market, knows the community, and understands the business. We worked with Zia over the course of several months while trying to coordinate an out of state move and ultimately bought a home "sight unseen" because of how much we trusted that she understood our home and financial goals. We cannot say enough about how much we value this relationship (both professionally and personally) and would recommend Zia without reservation to anyone looking to a buy or sell a home in Bastrop.

At 60 yrs old my made the move to buy my very first home. Zia was recommended by family and let me tell you I couldn’t be happier with my decision.
