•My wife and I decided that the place we were living in, for a variety of reasons was not right for us. Based on past experience with Rachel, we decided to have her handle the sale of our existing residence and the purchase of a new one. On the sale of our place, everything went pretty much by the book with no big issues. We were on the market for less than a month. On the purchase side, Rachel found us a diamond in the rough that had some cosmetic issues but great bones as they say. We made an offer that was below asking. After some negotiation with the sellers, we eventually reached an agreement on a price that was still below asking. This was signed by the sellers but it was a contingent sale since our place had not sold yet. That meant the property was still on the market. Another buyer entered the picture and offered a purchase price that was above the asking price. At that point, the seller’s realtor did everything she could to make the purchase as difficult as possible in an attempt to get us to back away from the deal- and thus get a higher sales commission. Every conceivable roadblock was thrown up. Rachel was up to the challenge and we did eventually close on the property. I am convinced that without a realtor of Rachel’s skills and determination, the sale would have probably fallen through. We also had great support from our financing people but that’s a story for a different review. It is when things get difficult when you thank the real estate Gods for people like Rachel. And now you know why my nickname for her was super realtor.
