•In early 2021, it became clear that my dad could not stay in the home he had lived in for the past 60 years. My dad, my sister, and I made the difficult decision to sell the family home and relocate dad to an assisted living community. We worked with Lisa Rollins and her teammate Anne Marie Straka. Both were incredibly supportive as business partners and in understanding the difficult emotional journey our family was taking. Lisa and Anne Marie gave us their best assessment of the house in the hot 2021 sales market, which was higher than we expected. This gave us greater incentive to do what was necessary. We put in a lot of "sweat equity" to clean out the house and 60 years of belongings. And, after so much time, the interior needed a little upgrade to make it look more "current." Lisa suggested that we work with Interiors by Lindsay to "stage" the house for photographs and showings. I admit, I was skeptical. But it made all the difference in the world. The place looked gorgeous. It was a time when I was happy to have been wrong (and I told Lisa and Lindsay that I was!!) Long story short, the house was listed "pre-sale" for about a week prior to it officially hitting the market. This generated a lot of interest. After only one day of showings, we had eight offers -- seven of which were above the asking price. We were able to select the highest offer: $380k versus the listed price of $335k -- a 13% premium!! It took about six weeks from offer to closing, as we had to work out the fine details with the eventual buyer. As bittersweet as it is, we are delighted that the new owners -- a young couple and their family -- will make many new memories in our "old" home. My dad, my sister, and I are glad we worked with Lisa Rollins and her team. We definitely recommend her for her professionalism, thoroughness, and ability to see more than meets the eye.
