About Carol Jean

Carol Jean Sheil lives and works in Winter Haven, Florida. In 1999 after working as an RN specializing in the Operating Room, she retired from nursing as the Director of Surgical Services at a local hospital. After a year of travel, Carol began her career in real estate working for a local builder. She obtained her real estate license and was on her way to a successful career as a REALTOR® . In 2014 she advanced her career by successfully obtaining her brokerage license and becoming the owner and broker of Judy B. Cleaves Properties, Inc. Carol leads her company by example exhibiting and stressing exemplary commitment to service, honesty, skill, knowledge, care and diligence in all aspects of the real estate transaction. Carol is detail oriented, listens to her clients and takes pride in providing ethical and professional customer services. Many of her clients are now friends and provide Carol with a constant stream of referrals and continuing business. As president of Judy B. Cleaves Properties, Inc., a local real estate company started in 1986 by Judy B. Cleaves, she is responsible for the attitude and conduct of the associates working under the Judy B. Cleaves Properties, Inc. name. She specializes in residential sales, 55+ communities and new home construction and design. She is a Seniors Real Estate Specialist and is Residential Construction Certified. Carol was named a FIVE STAR Real Estate Agent in the Orlando area for 2010. Carol is a member of the East Polk County Board of REALTORS® , The Florida Association of REALTORS® , The National Association of REALTOR® , the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce. Honesty, integrity and treating others the way she and family would wish to be treated define her. Carol grew up and attended schools in Miami, Florida, including Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She and her family relocated to Winter Haven in beautiful Central Florida in 1970. Carol along with her husband Pat have two children and three grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loves. Carol enjoys meeting and working with people, spending time with her family, reading, gardening, bicycling and crafts.

Well-prepared pro delivers

Carol Jean Sheil came well-armed to our initial meeting. She presented a folder containing statistics on the 13 for-sale properties and handful of recently sold properties in our community of 364 lots. After a tour of our home with her associate, Realtor Chris Goode, our conversation revealed Carol as an informed and organized real estate pro with a determination to succeed. She advised us to recognize the changing trend to a buyer's market locally and emphasized the importance of having realistic expectations with our mid-winter listing. It turned out our ideas on an asking price were similar. Our confidence in selecting Carol to sell our property was bolstered when she showed us the listing's description of our home that highlighted the many improvements we had undertaken during our 10 years of ownership. The professional photographs included an exceptional view of the front of our home. Carol skillfully guided us through the entire process from filling out the disclosure statements to conveniently setting up the closing. Her attention to detail and calm demeanor are exceptional. (No surprise. A retired nurse, she is a former director of surgical services for a local hospital.) She updated us on each viewing of the property and the offers. By mid-May we accepted an offer and closed in early June. We were very pleased with Carol's skill and efforts.

Carol is the best of the best. She was extremely helpful.

Getting a house ready and on the market is especially difficult when you live out-of-state. Thank goodness a friend put us in touch with Carol Sheil. Carol was the perfect agent for us. No matter what needed to be done, Carol knew who to call. Carol knows how to show case a home's value and we are so grateful for her assistance in selling my mother's home.

We would give her six stars if possible

in 2010, we were looking or an agent to help us find a second home in central Florida. Carol came highly recommended by friends. In just a few days, she helped us find the perfect home. Fourteen years later in 2024, we needed to sell the home. We did not hesitate to call Carol and of course, she helped sell our house in just a few weeks. She is equally skilled whether buying or selling. We found her knowledgeable, smart, honest, punctual, dependable, very likeable, and most importantly genuine.
