•The sale of my house went quite smoothly overall. As soon as I moved out, the realtor team moved in and took care of fixing up the house and preparing it for sale. Once it was listed, the house sold in five days in a market that was beginning to weaken for other sellers. Having moved to a new state, I was able to focus on getting established there instead of worrying much about the sale of my house, because the realtor took care of everything. I did have some problems with the hand-off to the settlement company, as I suddenly found myself in the hands of a separate firm and not sure what was going on. However, the confusion was soon cleared up and the sale went through efficiently, without my having to return to the area just to sign papers at the settlement.
