•Kate helped me with a particularly difficult home sale that was part of closing out my dad's estate from afar. She was a compassionate, effective, boots on the ground partner who bounced back and kept going every time things went sideways. When buyers made unreasonable demands, Kate offered sane advice and helped me hold firm. When a neighbor generated a boundary line dispute, she was ready to knock on their door and talk to the guy. While the lawyers did all kinds of lawyer stuff to resolve the conflict about the boundary she kept an eye on the actual house and made sure we didn't lose steam on the deal. When it was time to start over, she got the house back on the market in a flash. As this sale extended from summer into winter, she took responsibility for things like checking the heating oil and making sure someone was plowing snow. A lot of this was possible because Kate knows people who can help. She set me up with a moving company that specializes in estates. She has a reliable deep cleaner, electrician, snow shoveler, and junk hauler. But I want to highlight Kate's knowledge, leadership skills, and her ability to keep the deal going and the house safe. She thought the whole thing through, and made sure I was doing things like finding the right insurance and keeping track of the utilities. And the weirder this sale got, the more Kate grounded herself and showed her deep knowledge of homes and what they need, the intricacies of the selling process, and acumen about what makes a reasonable deal. The reason to go with someone like Kate is because you never know! We joked at our initial meeting about how quickly we would sell my dad's house... and instead we worked together for about seven months. Kate is the kind of agent that you want representing you if it all goes wrong like that!
