•Knowledgeable: Carleton knows the area and the nuances involved in helping his clients succeed. We could count on Carleton's business acumen and definitely benefited from his years of real estate experience in this market. Excellent Communication: Carleton kept us informed about next steps throughout the process. He did an excellent intake interview with us. This helped him understand us as a family and enabled him to look at potential properties through our eyes right from the start. On multiple occasions, he pointed out a "deal-breaker" element of a house before we even noticed it. Patient and Supportive: As partially out-of-town buyers, I'm sure we were more challenging to work with. My partner had moved into a rental in the area while I was still wrapping up loose ends in the Midwest. Initiating the house search felt overwhelming since neither of us was familiar with the area, and we had some strict location guidelines relating to proximity to my partner's job. Carleton didn't bat an eye; made it look easy and his encouragement helped us to feel confident that we would find a the perfect home for us (Spoiler alert: we did). Part Real Estate Beast; Part Therapist (LOL): We began our search in the heart of a strongly tilted seller's market. Sellers were fielding multiple above-asking offers at open house stage before we'd even had a chance to think about it (we're a bit more cautious than the "instant-offer" crowd). Admittedly, I got a bit down after missing a chance to really try for a few houses we liked, but Carleton's temperament, communication style, lived industry experience, and understanding of his clients gave him the ability to apply perspective that made the entire process less fraught. Even when inventory was lower than we would have hoped, Carleton kept finding ways to keep us focused on our ultimate goal and to resist the temptation to over-offer out of desperation/fear. We would use Carleton again 10 out of 10 times ~ It's great to be home!
