•Moving, and buying a house is a stressful event. Terry helped us with the sale of land and our home of 28 years. The first two were relatively seamless. The purchase of the new house in South Hill was more complicated. I'm glad we had the expertise Integrity provided under Terry Barnard's direction. Our first offer was excepted without any problems. The issues began to arise after the inspection was completed. The house had some costly repairs that needed to be done. Terry selected the inspector. We made a counter offer to fix the issues, but the seller refused to accept that. The seller threatened to take legal action, so we were referred to legal counsel that Terry recommends if anything of this nature arises. The seller finally agreed to make any and all repairs. We loved the house, so we accepted this very reluctantly. We entered the last phase of the closing, and the house under appraised. We did not expect that. We considered walking away multiple times. A lot of communication transpired between Terry, our lender, the listing agent, and us. Terry never once tried to sway our decision. She wanted us to be happy with the new home. We entered negotiations again. Our first offer was declined. It was very frustrating to say the least as we were living in a hotel. We finally came to an acceptable agreement for all parties. We learned a great deal during this process. The most important thing is to make sure your agent is looking out for your best interests. Often, people focus on the percentage you pay to sell or buy a home. A lot goes on behind the scenes that requires an expert in real estate to manage. Terry used integrity every step of the way. We are finally in our new home trying to restore it to meet our standards. I just hope Terry is around in 20 years should we need an agent again. The whole team at Integrity gets 5 stars in my opinion.
