Fast forward to 2020, when another artist/design team relived that vision, with high-end materials and hand-crafted work to achieve a woodsy, comfortable, classic American mountain home for today's living. Design Vision: The owners' design and build team wanted to stay true to the original vision, materiality, minimalism in an authentic handmade barn using materials dating back to 1817, built around an amazing three-story, 10 foot wide stone fireplace. They wanted to keep the backdrop all about that! In the end I think we achieved something that feels like a true Woodstock classic with some touches of glam you might see in the Hamptons. The Details: Historic A-line Anderson windows and 8ft sliders throughout, a master roof builder rebuilt the roof with wood and copper, real clapboard for the exterior, shiplap walls and v-groove ceilings, and Swedish made engineered white oak flooring with a perfectly weathered look for all the floors. A good amount of blue stone, stone walls and gardens with exterior lanterns from Restoration Hardware instill a sense of a timelessness. Heating, AC, plumbing and electric are all new. You will love the gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances from Bertazzoni, stone counters, heavy-gage brass fittings, aged bronze door knobs and lighting by SchoolHouse Electric. Upstairs The extraordinary third level has original beams, cathedral ceilings, and an architecturally interesting cupola for star gazing. The huge master bedroom/sitting room suite boasts a huge picture picture window perfectly framing uninterrupted mountains views for you to wake up to. The bathroom is incredible! Built into one of the peaks of the house with a free standing jet spa tub, a large glass shower, stone floor, large pedestal sink, beautiful lighting. On the pool level, two additional bedrooms - one with built in gas fireplace, a bathroom with vintage charm and touches of glam, laundry room and walk out to the heated pool and bluestone outdoor living area!
