Overview

A LANDMARK OF DISTINCTION. A LEGACY OF ARCHITECTURAL EXCELLENCE. Welcome to the legendary Montgomery Mansion, affectionately known as The Gingerbread House, one of Western Pennsylvania's most extraordinary examples of Victorian architecture. Dating to the 1880s and proudly recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, this magnificent Claysville residence is a testament to an era when craftsmanship was an art form. Originally created by prominent local craftsman Robert Porter, the mansion commands attention with its dramatic mansard-roofed tower, elaborate gingerbread detailing, ornate window surrounds, and breathtaking wraparound porch. Every architectural element tells a story of timeless elegance and remarkable artistry. Beyond the grand entrance, discover beautifully appointed parlors, gracious living and dining rooms, intricate period details, and an updated kitchen thoughtfully blending contemporary convenience with historic character. The second and third floors offer spacious bedrooms and baths, creating an exceptional balance of grandeur and everyday comfort. Outside, the combined double lot provides a generous, level backyard, inviting outdoor spaces, and convenient off-street parking with a carport. Located along the historic National Road, the estate offers small-town charm with convenient access to Washington, Pittsburgh, and surrounding communities. More than a residence, the Montgomery Mansion is a piece of American architectural history. An extraordinary opportunity to own, preserve, and become part of a legacy that has captivated generations.
