The house that Cheryl sold for us was somewhat unique, pristine, and highly desirable. Cheryl was the only realtor who did a complete and thorough pre-market analysis in advance of the interview which was designed to show us the "normal" house in our market/area. During the interview which was her first walk through, she quickly recognized that this particular house was outside the norm and would sell outside the market price range. Discussions regarding the market price set the price well above the normal market. Everyone agreed, contracts were signed and we were off to the sales market. Several other realtors were interviewed for the potential of being hired. None put any effort into a prelisting presentation. Other realtors listing prices would have been tens of thousands less (would be a great way to loss your hard earned money). Their attitude was more like - "here's your market price, I think I can help you dump this dog". I've personally sold my last 4 houses through Sotheby's all in different locations in this country and I can tell you for 100% fact that Sotheby's attracts a higher class clientele. House sold immediately, yes we are in a wild market but there is more to it than that. Hire a quality realtor, you'll be glad you did.
